I am a HUGE Dan Brown fan and have always liked his book covers. I chose the cover of his very first novel, Digital Fortress. It is a science fiction thriller about an “unbreakable” computer code developed. The story revolves around a women trying to prevent the code from getting released to the public, because if it did, terrorists would utilize it which would result in mass mayhem. One reason the cover is great is because of the “computer” typeface it uses. Since the story is all about coding the typeface is fitting. The use of green is also great because computer font on older computers was green. The story tackles themes about government security and censorship, thus, the eyes in the background symbolize that someone is always watching you. My favorite aspect of the cover are the lines of codes in the background because it visually backs up the title, Digital Fortress, and conveys the length and complexity of codes.
